My first Chinese vase with a good wax seal. The “jianding” seal was issued by Tianjin Cultural Relics Bureau.
This type of seal was required in order to export any antiques from Mainland China. I also see some small paper “underneath” the edge of the wax. The seal DOES NOT authenticate the age of the vase.

Several times now, I’ve seen red kanji numbers on vintage & antique Japanese earthenwares. They are usually located on the unglazed rim and their numbers match. Still not sure what they mean, but I think the numbers have to do with studio, kiln, factory, or pavillion number.
