This vintage Chinese Mahjong wooden box has an unusual decoration. The top lid has a Golden Dragon decorations, and is not painted on. It has that relief feel to it, not sure if it was carved, burnt, peeled, or what. Contains 144 pcs bone & bamboo tiles, with misc items.

This is a vintage Mahjong set made of bakelite. Nice “butter-scotch” color.

These old Mahjong tiles were made in China, intended for their own market (not for export etc). I’ve seen several similar sets, with similar patterns, BUT of different sizes. Game tiles are made of Bamboo and Ox bones.
