A Very Rare Chinese Scholar Piece - while this type of ware is usually identified as an “inkwell”, it is most likely a portable brushholder (with another square slot for personal seal). This piece is small, and was used mainly for traveling purposes. Take a look at the unusual craftmanships on the front and side panels. Circa: 19th century or earlier. Size: 6.5cm wide.
